BROAD SCOPE OF POSITION
This position reports to the Director of Special Education, and is responsible for providing speech language instruction to elementary, middle school, high school and/or transition students who are Deaf / hard-of-hearing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Master's Degree in Speech Language or closely related field from an accredited college or university, with specialization in Deaf Education.
• Must hold or be eligible for appropriate special services licensure in the State of Colorado, endorsed in Speech Language / Audiology.
• Experience teaching / working with children (in an educational environment) who are Deaf / hard-of-hearing.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) at the ADVANCED skill level, as demonstrated by an appropriate assessment tool, and according to school policy.
Terms of Employment: Full-time. The annual employment contract shall be based on the standard number of working days in the academic year (currently 185 days, August to June), beginning immediately, or with the 2009/2010 school year. Base salary shall be established pursuant to the Teacher Salary Schedule, and based on appropriate education and experience. Excellent benefits.
