SLP Opportunities in the Peace Corp

It was interesting to find that from 1967 to the present, the Peace Corp has welcomed SLP volunteers, specifically in Samoa, the Pacific Islands. According to the listing;

"Volunteers with experience in special needs education, such as autism, speech/language therapy and art therapy, are working as teacher trainers for the Ministry of Education and the first "Second Chance" education institution in Samoa. Volunteers have conducted workshops for special needs teachers working at the primary and secondary levels. Volunteers work individually with slow learners and those in a classroom setting. Additionally, they conduct island-wide surveys to identify special needs students who could benefit from this program."

We would love to have stories from any SLPs who have served in the Peace Corp or who know of other similar opportunities.
